Regional Development Australia – Riverina is part of an Australian Government initiative based on building partnerships and ensuring that all governments and stakeholders are responsive to local priorities and needs. Stretching 500kms from east to west across south-central NSW, the RDA Riverina region (map) covers an area of almost 80,000 square kilometres. The region is home to approximately 170,000 people (2016 Census), many who rely on the region’s largest employer – agriculture and related businesses – for their livelihood. The region encompasses 14 Local Government areas, and is home to the the major regional cities of Wagga Wagga and Griffith.
